Dublin-based musician, singer and vocal coach
My two kids really got into their singing lessons in a new way through Maria. I was really impressed with how she fitted in with their worldview and got them practising. Rachel Smith
Great teacher. I wanted to learn to be able to sing a song at my own wedding. It worked! Maria had lots of patience with me. Janet O Reilly
It made a huge difference to me in the choir. I now feel much more confident and sing from a much better place in myself James Dwyer
Release Your Voice - Develop your vocal ability
I teach all styles from jazz, pop, rock, blues, funk, folk to choral and classical with a committment to the art of self-expression and helping you find your authentic voice. I work across a wide range of ages, abilities and experience. Some are complete beginners and some are already professionals. I was the Voice Coach to the lead singer, Brittany Woodrow, in 'Fame' ?the UK Musical, prior to its run in Grand Canal Theatre Dublin 2010. Voice classes are suited to the needs of the individual:
You may be a complete beginner who's never sung before, or only in the shower! You may have been discouraged by childhood experiences
You may be in a choir and need to learn more technique on how to get the best from your voice
You may be a seasoned performer but need to refresh on techniques that have slipped from memory and practise
You would like to get a song or spoken word together for a party piece or just sing for your own pleasure
You'd like to perform in public, join a band or get ready for a recording studio
You want to know about the process of being in a band as a singer or lead singer, the music business element as a member or songwriter, the sound tech skills etc
I take quite a holistic approach to the voice. I incorporate techniques that aim to strengthen, expand and develop the voice while building on the core strength of excellent foundational breathing to bring the best out in your voice.
I help to prevent voice fatigue, hoarseness, sore throats and other stress aspect.
Singing and sonic exercising brings about a real sense of well-being.
We do the songs you would like to sing and maybe more besides!
